Completed his studies at the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb (Photography Department), continued at the Art Academy then the Academy of Film and Theater. Exhibiting artist since 1970. His first conceptual works consist of declaring himself a non-artist under pseudonyme, then "anonymous conceptual artist", inscriptions as "I do not wish to show anything new and original". All of his activity concentrates on the status of the artists, the role of the galleries and museums in the life of the artists etc. Since 1972, he participates in the activities of the Gallery of Tenants of Ida Biard in Paris. 1973: first video work. 1974: first artist book. He changes name with the Swiss artist Henri Barbier. Under different pseudonymes, he works at the magazine Film, writes on film and photography. 1981: Retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. Starts to work as cameraman. In the 1980s, he creates conceptual paintings. Since 1988: Professor of camera work an the Academy of film and Theater in Zagreb. Second big retrospective exhibition in 1996.
